Possibilities. Section Builder
allows to form an arbitrary beam cross sections and calculates their geometrical
characteristics. The program treat two kinds of cross sections: arbitrary
and thin-walled. The arbitrary sections may be multiply connected (sections with
cavities) and compound. The thin-walled cross sections can be the multiply connected (consists of some number of closed contours)
as well as have the branches.
Features. Full set of geometrical characteristics
is calculated for both types of cross sections. The torsional stiffness factor for arbitrary cross sections is calculated by the
direct solution of Poisson problem for the section
contour. For thin-walled sections both pure torsion
(torsion stiffness factor) and end constraint cross section torsion
(coordinates of shear center, warping
stiffness factor) characteristics are calculated.
