Thin-walled section is formed as a sequence of the pieces connected to each other. The section can be the multiply connected (consists from some number of closed contours) as well as have the branches. The roundings can be inscribed in the vertex angles of the pieces conjugation.

All characteristics of the section are calculated in the assumption, that wall thickness of the section is much less than its overall dimensions.

As a result of calculation the following characteristics of section are formed:

A     - the area of section,

It     - the torsion stiffness factor,

Is     - the warping stiffness factor,

Iyy   - the moment of inertia relative to principal Y-axis,

Izz   - the moment of inertia relative to principal Z-axis,

Ty   - characteristic  wpeA.jpg (1344 bytes),

Tz   - characteristic  wpeB.jpg (1321 bytes),

zmin - distance to the left outermost fiber along principal Z-axis,

zmax - distance to the right outermost fiber along principal Z-axis,

ymin - distance to the bottom outermost fiber along principal Y-axis,

ymax - distance to the top outermost fiber along principal Y-axis,

zs     - z-coordinate of the shear center relative to the center of gravity of the section,

ys     - y- coordinate of the shear center relative to the center of gravity of the section,

a     - a rotation angle of the principal section axes relative to the local axes.
